Founded in 2017, CV Mandiri Kopi (MANCAFE) is a coffee producer and exporter based in North Sumatra, working closely with farmers across some of Indonesia’s best-known coffee-growing regions, including Gayo, Bener Meriah, Humbang Hasundutan and Mandheling. Mandiri Kopi places a strong emphasis on traceability, quality and sustainability, maintaining close relationships with farmers and suppliers throughout its sourcing network. Its approach supports local coffee-growing communities while helping ensure consistent quality from origin through processing and export. The particular coffee we are showcasing is a honey-process coffee. With this method, part of the coffee fruit’s natural mucilage is left on the bean during drying, often contributing additional sweetness, body and complexity to the finished cup. Through careful processing and strong relationships at origin, Mandiri Kopi produces distinctive, traceable Sumatran coffees while supporting a more sustainable coffee supply chain.
