Carefully milled at the FNC’s renowned Almacafé facility in Manizales, this coffee reflects Colombia’s long-standing export expertise. Established in 1965, Almacafé supports producers through quality control, logistics and export preparation, helping maintain consistency and traceability throughout the supply chain. Producers in Quindío are supported by Colombia’s Federación Nacional de Cafeteros (FNC), founded in 1927, whose work across the region contributes to technical assistance, infrastructure development and market access for coffee-growing communities. The FNC’s presence has reinforced Quindío’s reputation for producing organized, quality-focused coffees under consistent growing and processing conditions. Sourced from smallholder farms across Quindío’s coffee-producing municipalities, this coffee reflects the character of one of Colombia’s most recognized coffee regions. Coffee is cultivated throughout municipalities such as Armenia, Calarcá, La Tebaida, Montenegro, Salento, Circasia and Quimbaya, where generations of farming families continue to produce coffee on relatively small farms supported by regional cooperative structures and shared infrastructure. Quindío’s coffee sector includes more than 5,600 coffee farms managed by approximately 5,100 coffee growers across nearly 18,300 hectares of coffee-planted land. The region also reflects an active and diverse coffee-growing community, including more than 1,900 women involved in coffee production and over 1,300 young coffee growers contributing to the continuity of the sector across generations. Coffee in this region is typically grown at elevations around 1,510 meters above sea level, with moderate temperatures and well-distributed rainfall supporting steady cherry development. Varieties such as Castillo, Colombia and Caturra are commonly cultivated, while selective handpicking and fully washed processing methods contribute to consistency and preparation quality. Graded as Supremo SC17/18, this coffee consists of large, uniform beans with minimal defects, reflecting a high standard of sorting and preparation that supports both visual quality and a clean, consistent cup profile.
