This coffee is the result of the collective work of Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera Central Alta Montaña, established in 2018 to unite smallholder producers under a shared vision of quality, sustainability, and stronger market access. Today, the cooperative brings together more than 230 coffee-growing families cultivating over 1,500 hectares of organically managed coffee across the fertile eastern slopes of the Andes. Under the leadership of its current President, Vinacer Gutiérrez Velásquez, the cooperative continues to strengthen its commitment to responsible production and long-term opportunities for its members. Benefiting from favorable elevations, rich soils, and a climate well suited to Arabica cultivation, the cooperative produces coffees distinguished by their balanced sweetness, vibrant acidity, and clean cup profile. Certified under Organic and Fairtrade standards, its members combine careful washed processing with environmentally responsible farming practices, while continuously improving soil health, protecting surrounding ecosystems, and expanding their technical knowledge through cooperative training and shared expertise. Today, Central Alta Montaña reflects the steady evolution of Peru's specialty coffee sector, offering fully traceable coffees that express the distinctive character of the country's central coffee-growing region. Through collaboration, quality-driven production, and a shared commitment to sustainability, the cooperative continues to build lasting relationships with specialty coffee partners around the world.
