The official production process for the Designation of Origin highlights and preserves the unique qualities of the region's terroir. Only coffees grown within the officially defined area and produced according to the regulations set by the Regulatory Board are eligible to carry the Cerrado Mineiro Region - D.O. label, marked with the Guaranteed Origin and Quality Seal. To qualify, coffee farms must be located within the delimited Designation of Origin area, at an altitude between 800 and 1,300 meters.
