Founded in 1993 in Patrocínio, Minas Gerais, Expocacer represents over 700 coffee producers in Brazil’s Cerrado Mineiro. With main facilities in Patrocínio and nearby hubs, it provides processing, storage, and export services. The cooperative improves farmers’ market access, quality control, traceability, and income stability through direct connections to global buy The official production process for the Designation of Origin highlights and preserves the unique qualities of the region's terroir. Only coffees grown within the officially defined area and produced according to the regulations set by the Regulatory Board are eligible to carry the Cerrado Mineiro Region - D.O. label, marked with the Guaranteed Origin and Quality Seal. To qualify, coffee farms must be located within the delimited Designation of Origin area, at an altitude between 800 and 1,300 meters. Only Coffea arabica beans are accepted, and coffee must meet a minimum quality score of 80 points based on the SCAA* scale. Producers must follow proper agricultural practices, comply with Brazilian laws, and store their coffee exclusively in accredited cooperatives.
