Nantic, meaning our mother in the ancient Mayan language of Tzeltal, is a coffee born in the highlands of Chiapas, Mexico, where rich volcanic soils and high altitudes provide ideal growing conditions. This exceptional coffee comes from 225 indigenous women, many of whom are relatives and the main or sole providers for their families. These women cultivate 475 hectares using traditional farming methods passed down through generations. They are rural entrepreneurs and cultural guardians, ranging in age from 18 to over 60. Through the Por más café (PMC) program, they receive fair prices, tools, and support to sustain and improve their farms. The result is a naturally grown coffee with a smooth, aromatic, and fruity profile — a reflection of both the land and the hands that nurture it. Nantic is more than coffee; it is a story of resilience, tradition, and the collective strength of women cultivating their future.
