Ethiopia Guji Grade 4 (Natural) comes from Guji in southern Ethiopia (Oromia), a highland area where coffee is grown mainly by smallholder families on small plots. Farming is largely traditional, with limited mechanization, selective hand-picking, and mixed “coffee garden” systems that are closely tied to local communities. This coffee is carefully selected and prepared by Bagersh (S.A. Bagersh) from multiple smallholder producers in Guji. The Bagersh family is widely recognized in Ethiopia for its focus on lot preparation and process control, supporting consistent grading and export-ready standards across their coffees. As a natural coffee, ripe cherries are dried whole (commonly on raised beds) and managed to promote even drying before final sorting and preparation. The Grade 4 designation indicates a lot prepared to meet the corresponding commercial standard, prioritizing stability and consistency for shipment.
