On the island of Sumatra, one of Indonesia’s most well-known coffee-growing regions, CV Mandiri Kopi was founded in 2017 and is based in Medan (North Sumatra). The company was built on a vision of independence and self-sufficiency in coffee production; its founder, Cipta Kurnia, began with a modest operation—literally from a garage—and gradually developed a structure focused on improving, step by step, both preparation and service to customers. CV Mandiri Kopi sources directly from farmers and growers and prepares its coffees under recognized standards (SCAA and SNI), strengthening traceability and lot-to-lot consistency. From the beginning, it has worked with both green coffee and roasted coffee, reinforcing its value chain in processing and preparation. With a focus on sustainability and community collaboration, the company aims to improve farming livelihoods and involves women from nearby communities in post-harvest activities. Its portfolio includes Arabica and Robusta, supported by practices and certifications that promote responsible production and access to specialty markets, serving both the domestic market and international clients through long-term, sustainable commercial relationships.
