ASOSPAC – Asociación de Productores Agropecuarios y Comercializadores de Santiago Pérez Founded in 2017 in the township of Santiago Pérez, Tolima, ASOSPAC brings together smallholder coffee producers united by a shared vision of sustainability, quality, and rural development. What began with 29 farmers has now grown into a nonprofit association of around 50 members, each contributing to a collective model that strengthens both the community and the coffee they produce. The farms are located on the southern slopes of Tolima, at an average altitude of 1,900 meters, in soils enriched by the Nevado del Tolima volcano. The combination of volcanic terroir, wide daily temperature variations, and careful cultivation produces coffees of remarkable character and complexity. Producers, many of them growing Caturra, handpick ripe cherries and process them the same day through depulping, fermentation, washing, and drying on patios or raised beds. This meticulous approach, together with ASOSPAC’s emphasis on traceability, ensures that each lot highlights both the dedication of its farmers and the uniqueness of its origin. Beyond coffee quality, the cooperative is deeply committed to the well-being of its members. Training initiatives help producers secure better prices through certifications such as Fairtrade and Organic (FTO), while also creating fairer opportunities for younger generations to continue the tradition of sustainable coffee farming. In this way, ASOSPAC not only strengthens livelihoods today but also invests in the future of coffee-growing families in Tolima.
