Produced by the Oromia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (OCFCU), this coffee represents the collective work of thousands of smallholder farmers across Ethiopia’s Oromia Regional State. Founded in 1999, OCFCU supports its members through access to international markets, organic certification programs, and community development initiatives. The cooperative is entirely farmer-owned and committed to sustainable, traceable coffee production. Cultivation takes place in the Sidamo zone, a highland area ranging from 1,700 to 2,200 meters above sea level, known for its fertile volcanic soils and favorable climate. Harvest occurs between October and March, and the beans—mainly native Arabica heirloom varieties—are fully washed and sun-dried. Graded as Sidamo Grade 2 (GR2), this coffee reflects careful preparation and a low presence of defects. The combination of elevation, climate conditions, and traditional farming practices contributes to the consistency and quality that define this well-regarded coffee-growing region.
