Aldea Coffee and its sister companies, together known as Familia Aldea, form a producers’ association based in the north-central region of Nicaragua. The group includes over 13,000 small-scale farmers growing basic grains, vegetables, and coffee across eight municipalities. Aldea began in 1992, when 22 farmers gathered by Lake Apanás in Jinotega with a shared dream. Since then, it has grown into a strong community rooted in social responsibility, rural development, and collective progress. Today, more than 13,500 coffee producers are leading a renewal of coffee farming through agroforestry practices that improve both quality and sustainability. Aldea Coffee promotes fair, direct relationships between producers and ethical importers and roasters. Each cup reflects care for the environment and a deep connection to the land and the people who work it.
