Guatemala SHB EP Genuine Antigua Acate – highlights both the richness of the Antigua terroir and the historic commitment of Finca la Esperanza and CAMEC’s (Casa Agrícola Mercantil y Exportación de Café) to quality and producers. Founded by Emil Gustav Sterkel after World War II, CAMEC built its reputation on precision, honesty, and collaboration with local farmers. Over time, Beneficio La Esperanza, just outside Antigua, became a key hub for processing coffees from small and medium producers, ensuring consistency and a direct link with roasters worldwide. Today, Finca/Beneficio La Esperanza uphold CAMEC’s values by combining tradition with innovation. Located in the Antigua Valley, beneath the Agua, Acatenango, and Fuego volcanoes, the farm benefits from fertile volcanic soils, balanced rainfall, and a stable climate. At altitudes of 5,000 to 6,200 feet, cherries are handpicked, traditionally washed, and sun-dried to deliver a clean, well-balanced cup.
